Below we have tried our best to explain to you, our customers what exactly is CBD? What is Cannabidiol Oil?
CBD oil is derived from the cannabis sativa plant and it is the second most prevalent active ingredient in the plant. It’s a type of cannabinoid, which are the chemicals naturally found in hemp plants. We as humans also have cannabinoids of our own that are naturally produced in the body by the brain, they are known as endocannabinoids. Endocannabinoids bind to cannabinoid receptors on target cells throughout the body, which trigger a cellular response. These receptors are responsible for a variety of physiological processes including appetite, pain-sensation, mood, and memory.
CBD oil influences receptors within the endocannabinoid system when digested in the body and it also enhances your natural level of endocannabinoids. So, in interacting with your body’s internal receptors, CBD may promote the normal functioning of the reproductive, hormonal, and immune systems of the body. And balancing your hormones may help protect your skin’s appearance. CBD oil is extracted from the flowers, leaves and stem of the plant. CBD oil doesn’t create a “high” as it is not non intoxicating so it is perfectly safe.

Is CBD Legal?
CBD oil is completely legal in the UK provided it has been derived from an industrial hemp strain that is EU-approved and that it has trace or no amounts of THC. Tetrahydrocannabinol known as THC is the other main prevalent ingredient in the cannabis plant. THC is illegal in the UK as it causes a “high” whereas CBD does not, but CBD can contain very small amounts of THC but it is not significant enough to cause any psychological effects.
Can CBD Oil Help With Acne?
Cannabidiol oil has been proven to be beneficial for acne prone skin. A study by The Journal of Clinical Investigation found in 2014 proved that CBD oil prevented human sebocytes (the cells that create sebum) from producing too much oil on the face. When too much sebum (oil on the face) is produced it can be a key factor in the cause of spots and acne, by reducing the amount of oil your skin produces can narrow the chance of a break out.
The investigation also concluded that Cannabidiol oil triggers anti-inflammatory reactions in cells preventing cytokines, known acne-triggers, from activating. The anti- inflammatory properties of CBD oil help to calm irritated skin and bring down the redness and swelling around spots. This is why many acne fighting cosmetics may include CBD in their products as recently it’s been discovered as a key ingredient in reducing the chances of breaking out and also reducing the appearance of spots.
Can CBD Combat Wrinkles?
Collagen and elastin are responsible for keeping your skin firm and wrinkle-free. However, skin wrinkling is a natural biological process. This causes skin to become less firm resulting in visible fine lines and wrinkles. As you age, your body produces less collagen which contributes to the skins loss of firmness. CBD helps to fight skin wrinkling by addressing both intrinsic and extrinsic factors.
Researches suggest that CBD is a powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants are compounds that help to stop the activity of free radicals within the body, which helps to prevent cell damage. CBD may help avoid wrinkling of the skin by reducing free radical’s activity on the skin’s tissues and cells. These free radicals cause acceleration of the breaking down of collagen. So CBD helps to slow down the process of collagen loss as you age. This could help prevent wrinkles and maintain firm.
Recently Cannabidiol oil, known as CBD oil has been cropping up in many different health and beauty products. This is because studies have only been performed recently in the last ten years on this natural chemical. These studies such as ones carried out by Health Harvard Education have proven many benefits of CBD oil when ingested, or applied to the skin or hair.
Can CBD Help With Skin Inflammation?
Inflammation, or inflammatory response, is an aspect of the body’s immune response. Inflammation goes hand in hand with pain. The most likely symptoms of inflammation include: pain, heat, redness and swelling.
Cannabinoids, including CBD, are believed to be an anti-inflammatory. Many studies in cells support the idea that CBD may be an effective natural anti-inflammatory, but more research is possibly needed to determine how it works and the best applications for specific types of inflammation. With CBD having anti-inflammatory properties it is perfect to be used on injuries, or damaged skin including acne and spots.

Can CBD Oil Benefit your Hair?
CBD oil, when applied to hair, can keep your scalp healthy and can help to promote hair growth. As previously mentioned CBD oil controls the levels of oil your face produces, well it can also control the amount of oil is produced on the scalp into your hair. The interaction of CBD influences the natural oil levels in the scalp that help to reduce issues such as dandruff and dry scalp and helps to reduce your hair from becoming ‘greasy’ as quickly. CBD oil also has antimicrobial properties that decrease the risk of scalp infections, which can lead to dandruff. It heals the flaky patches in the scalp and ensures good scalp health.
Another major benefit of CBD oil being applied to the hair is that it helps to promote growth and healthy, nourished hair. High in vitamin E and fatty acids, CBD Oil nourishes the scalp and strengthens hair, therefore encouraging hair growth. By promoting hair growth this encourages the reduction of hair
loss and also stimulates growth of new hair that has previously been lost.
